How to Delete Your Account

You can delete your Forkee account directly from within the app. Follow these steps:

  1. Open the Forkee app and sign in to your account.
  2. Navigate to Settings from the main menu.
  3. Scroll to the Account section and select Delete Account.
  4. Review the information about what data will be deleted, then confirm your request.

Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted within 30 days of your request.

Alternative: Email Request

If you are unable to access the app, you can request account deletion by sending an email to [email protected] from the email address associated with your account. Please use the subject line “Account Deletion Request”.

Data That Is Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:

  • Your profile information (name, email, bio, profile photo)
  • All recipes you created or imported
  • Recipe images you uploaded
  • Your recipe collections and tags
  • Your pantry and grocery list items
  • Your creator profile and published recipes (if applicable)
  • Your space memberships
  • Your session tokens and API keys
  • Your connected OAuth accounts (e.g., Google sign-in)

Data That May Be Retained

Certain data may be retained for a limited period after deletion:

  • Financial records: If you made or received payments (e.g., tips), transaction records required for legal and tax compliance may be retained for up to 7 years as required by applicable law.
  • Aggregated analytics: Anonymized, non-personally identifiable usage data that cannot be linked back to you.
  • Shared content: Recipes you shared with other users via share links may persist in their accounts until they delete them.

Deletion Timeline

Account deletion begins immediately upon confirmation. All personal data and content is permanently removed from our active systems within 30 days. Backup copies may take up to 90 days to be fully purged.
