Introduction

Forkee ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our recipe management application and website.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us:

• Account information (email address, name)
• Recipe content you create or import
• Images you upload
• Usage data and preferences, such as the features and screens you use
• Technical data, including device or browser type, operating system, app version, and error information

Analytics and Session Replay

We use PostHog to measure how Forkee is used, diagnose errors, and improve the product. PostHog receives product events, page or screen views, device or browser information, and an internal account identifier when you are signed in. On the web, this may also include the account name and email address that we associate with your Forkee account.

We may record sessions in the web and mobile apps. A recording shows how someone moved through Forkee and interacted with it so we can investigate usability and reliability issues. Mobile recordings are sampled at 20% by default. We configure mobile replay to mask text and text-input fields, images, and supported system picker/contact views. We do not send mobile replay logs or network-request telemetry. PostHog's project settings may apply additional recording controls.

Session recordings and analytics are processed through PostHog's EU Cloud endpoint. They are retained under the retention settings for our PostHog project, which may differ from the retention of data in your Forkee account.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our services
• Process and store your recipes
• Send you technical notices and support messages
• Respond to your comments and questions
• Understand product use, investigate errors, and improve Forkee

AI Processing

When you import recipes, we use AI services to extract and format recipe information. The text you provide is processed by our AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, or self-hosted models) solely for the purpose of recipe extraction. We do not use your recipe content to train AI models.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely in our database. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

• With your consent
• To comply with legal obligations
• To protect our rights and prevent fraud
• With service providers who assist in operating our service, including PostHog for product analytics and session replay and our AI providers for recipe extraction
